Tolls Begin in Chambers Co.
November 1, 2011

Beaumont, TX – No toll booths. Just smooth sailing. Starting November 1, TxDOT will begin collecting tolls on State Highway 99 (SH 99), also known as the Grand Parkway, in Chambers County.

SH 99 is an all-electronic toll road, from I-10 south to Fisher Road, which means there’s no stopping or slowing down to pay at a toll booth.  (6.6-mile section of roadway)

The one-way toll rate is $1.00 for most passenger vehicles and motorcycles. Motorists can view all toll rates and get additional information about the SH 99 toll road at 1-888-GoTxTag.

In order to avoid costly violations, motorists are advised to install the toll tag of their choice on their vehicle windshield. Also, make sure all toll account information is up-to-date, including address and license plate number.

SH 99 in Chambers County is part of a third loop within the Houston-Baytown metropolitan area. The proposed 180-mile loop includes 11 separate segments, with the section in Chambers County identified as Segment I-2. The roadway will help relieve traffic congestion, enhance safety and connectivity, and give Texans the first-class transportation system they deserve.
