Veterans Day
November 11, 2010

A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life. That is beyond honor.

My family has several who have served in various branches of our military. Quite a few of my friends have as well. I’m thankful for their service, sacrifices and commitment.

TO ALL VETERANS…I SALUTE YOU!

Rodeo (CONT.)
April 10, 2009

A few days ago, I put a couple of Rodeo pictures up, but didnt have time to write anything. Here’s my continuation of that posting.

I had a great time at this year’s Rodeo! I went on 3 different nights and each day had its own special moment. As you have probably gathered from reading my blog in general…I love animals, so the the petting area (Reliant Park) had to be my favorite. I already posted pictures – where I am up close with all of the farm animals.

Here are pictures from another awesome day. I co-hosted The Salute To Our Troops celebration with Outlaw Dave. Wayne Newton, who has an incredible relationship with the USO (United Service Organizations) made an appearance, as you can see.

Trivia: The USO is not a part of the US Govt.; they rely on donations from individuals to support uniformed military personnel and their families.

Keni Thomas (in picture above) performed for the crowd, has served in the US Army and is best known for his country music. Trivia: He was a consultant for the movie Black Hawk Down and a survivor.

There’s Wayne talking to my dad on my cell phone. Quick snap shot! What a great guy…everyone had great things to say about him.

A week later Robin (who coordinated the entire Salute To Our Troops celebration) treated us to dinner. The eight in our party had a nice time. I tried to convince Dave to get on Facebook…I think he’s considering it. But, for now you can contact him on his website outlawnation.us.

And I can’t write about the Rodeo without mentioning the hottest segment of all!!! Mutton Bustin’. The video speaks for itself.
