MLK Day: Community Art

I shot this story on MLK Day (2009) and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome of this mural. A local clinic in North Houston (Yale near Crosstimbers) agreed to let volunteers paint on the side of the brick building to honor Dr. King and newly sworn in, President Obama. People who wanted to answer President Obama’s “call to service” found this community event either online, in their church or by word of mouth. About 150 people showed up from around the city.  Here’s a link to my story that aired: http://www.click2houston.com/video/18515226/index.html
